WOW! Andrew, these are the most powerful words you have shared with each of us! Pride and selfishness are so strong in our world this very moment. We forget it is not all about us....it is about others....and this is what Jesus taught us! And, Andrew, we are all blessed by your beautiful words that you share during the journey you are now on. Prayers continue to go up for your healing. Only God knows the plans He has for you. Stay strong! Bless you!
I'm pretty sure you have been struggling with the big C. I have a pastor I follow on another substack that recently posted on his loss from that---and his hope. I hope you can read the link.
The "poison" is sin, the "antidote" is Jesus, the promised Messiah. All transformations are miraculous, some more visibly miraculous than others. IMO, one of your best Andrew! Praying for you during this difficult time.
Please send this poem to Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, the "president" and his cabinet, and all those other greedy, grasping, self-serving sycophants of the above. Not that it will help but it's still a shot across the bow of their oversized yachts and egos. TY.
Andrew, I do believe you outdo yourself every day. This not only shows your caring and faith, but points out the Carpenter who was sent by his Father to help every one of us!
Sean, thank you so much for continuing to educate us about your hero, Helen Keller. She is so much more real to me now. From her father who never gave up on her to Anne Sullivan to one life after another touched by her. Thank you.
As bad as you think you are there is always someone that is in a situation that is also dire. How you help is a testament to your life, and Hellen Keller has always been a beacon on how your life could be regardless of your situation.
Thank you, Sean, for a story filled with hope! Mine has been shaky lately. I pray my eyes may be opened to what good I may be used for no matter how small. Thank you, Lord for Sean and Jamie!
Yes, a few years back, I took most of my nieces to see the play and tour the home. They got to pretend to pump water where Helen had her breakthrough. I highly recommend it.
I know Helen Keller is one of your heroes. The beauty of her kindness and grace as she helped the little boy who would have been forgotten was not only life-giving to the little boy, but this story reminds me that selflessness is the gift we can give others. Truly thinking of others as more important than ourselves. Thanks for sharing this, Sean. Glad you're back.
Heart investment with others is beautiful. Often it continues….one helping hand to another. Tommy was an intelligent man with gifted craftsmanship from his hands. Teachers helped him to make this discovery! One of which was Helen Keller. In this story, Tommy is likewise teaching another. A human chain reaction!
And what on Earth are we to make
of those with open, loving hearts
whose mission is to give, not take;
how are we to play our parts
in a world they should define,
but that instead is ruled by greed
that is nurtured and defined
by relentless grasping need?
Perhaps it is the Power Of One,
an individual decision
to look to, and to become
the reflected vision
of the Carpenter who died
to ransom our souls from our pride.

Sandi, thank you so much for this. It's been a dreadfully painful day; your words are a balm.
Beautiful! Andrew I have missed you the pass few days.
Thanks, Nancy! I did comment very late on Sean's post from yesterday. I've been a bit unwell.
Andrew, I hope and pray you are feeling better!
Thank you so much, Sharon. It's very hard, but it's God's will, and my life overflows with blessings.
I missed you too, Andrew. I hope you're feeling better now.
Kathleen, not feeling better, but I'm in good spirits. Cancer is a bug, not a feature, and I can live without resentment.

Beth, I appreciate the thought, but I don't do politics. It's bad for my health.
Having hope rebuilt here. Thank you Andrew.
Thank YOU, Cynthia.
I realize we need to make a book of the treasured poems of yours.
Kathy, the are being curated by a writer friend who does Christian historical fiction set in the Roman Empire.

Dear dear Sean, thank you for continuing to bless us with your clean, uplifting, non-political essays.
Welcome home!

To hear the Gospel is a wonderful thing. But to live it brings splendor.
HK: still blessing us even today.
A great story of a caring little girl and how she was able to move mountains. A blessed soul.

A beautiful and meaningful story. What a great way to start my day! Thanks!
One of the best yet.
The Helen Keller story is in a play at the Helen Keller Center in Tuscumbia, Al for June, July each year. So I was told.
Yes, a few years back, I took most of my nieces to see the play and tour the home. They got to pretend to pump water where Helen had her breakthrough. I highly recommend it.
I find the human mind amazing, that it is capable of learning such things, even in the midst of severe handicaps.
A great story Sean. We need more people like Helen in today’s world.
Each of us can be a Helen Keller for someone, in one form or another.
Making me cry before a presentation. No fair. And yet, perfect.
Thank you for sharing a beautiful story my dear friend 🙏
