A touch of Paul Harvey early in the morning is a great way to start the day. I can hear his voice, distinctive and smooth. If that angel sounded like him, tshirt notwithstanding, anybody would trust him with her life. It boggles the mind that we have a tradition that angels have wings and arewhite and flit around like fairies, only bigger. Most reports of angels, they look like anybody. Someone we trust instantly. And my quirky mind believes they are all around us, all the time. Sometimes they put a warning in our minds: don't drive down that street. Don't trust that person. Don't step off that curb yet. If we are mindful, we are guided. It doesn't make sense why angels would care about us; we're not that good, that loving, that helpful, and we harbor dark thoughts. I'm just thankful they do.
Not strangers in the night? Hmmm… not sure of that. It was a pair of strangers who came out of the blue on a cold, snowy night to help me help an older woman stranded in the middle of a street. Never saw them before, never again. They were there when they were needed, then left without a trace.
As an English teacher, I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate the way you always tie your conclusion back to something in your introduction. I work hard to teach my students how to do this. Your English teacher would be so proud of you. Thank you for being a "real" writer. I enjoy hearing your voice from the screen as I read every morning. I know you get some negative feedback, often from English critics, but I wanted you to know there is at least one English teacher who appreciates your writing.
My dear Mother was an English major, and she shared a lot of what she knew. I always look for the way Sean ties his conclusion back to his introduction.
I believe! My grandpa had been gone 2 years. We lived beside him and grandma. I was 12..I walked out of our house and was going to walk on the path. Grandpa said...go back. Don't come this way. I took 2 steps back and a large water moccasin crawled out from where I had just stepped from. Terrified, I looked up and grandpa waved at me and just disappeared. Of course, I was a kid. No one believed me. But I believe in Angels!
Better they manifest as a handsome biped than as described in Ezekiel. I might find it more disconcerting than comforting to be approached by a ball of Holy fire surrounded by a ring of eyes and wings.
So, it seems like a kindness when they come in a familiar form.
Cheryl, that passage in Ezekiel definitely paints them in a different way than the host that sang before the shepherds in Luke. Maybe God dresses them for whatever the occasion is. I will add that to the lo-o-ong list of questions I have for Him when I get there.

Man, that's good, Ed. You, too, Te. Hey, if we put you two together, you'd be Te-Ed.
How about "All of the above"?

People might not believe in angels, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Oh Rhea! You have made Sean’s week! Maybe he will now believe the rest of us who tell him what a great writer, inspiration and friend he is.

Sean, you never disappoint❣️

❤️💕❤️💕 Loved Paul Harvey almost as much as I love Sean Dietrich! Of course there are angels!!
Angels exist - pure and simple.

Loved this!💕
Yep and wouldn’t he say … “so that’s the rest of the story…..Good Day!”
‘Educated beyond her intelligence’ is a phrase I chewed on for a bit.
How very true head knowledge can erase our spiritual knowledge. The latter being much more valuable, Mom and daughter would agree.
An angel dressed in a Beatles t-shirt, who says God doesn’t have a sense of humor? Big fan here. Of Yahweh, the band and the writer.
I happen to be one of those ladies who has angels all over her house, mostly gifts from one of my precious granddaughters. And I have stories.......
Barbara Ashburn, SHARE THEM WITH SEAN so we can all hear about them.. you are so blessed by them!!
