My guess is you left more than the hat. It was a symbol of what you were able to leave behind from all those things that were completely out of your control as a child. You placed that hat exactly where it was intended to be all along. Much love has been given to you now and much, much more do you give away. God is speaking and you are listening. Peace to you, our friend.

Patty, you addressed what's been on Seaner's heart, mind and soul beautifully. Now I will address his physical being, his shin splints. I don't know how wise it would be of him to continue this arduous walking because of the shape he's in right now. Is there a doctor in the room? Please address this serious condition and how best to treat it.

Pattie,I couldn't have said it better.Sean,I pray your pain eases.Somerimes we have to walk through the fire again to let it go.You did,by leaving your favorite hat during a pilgrimage.Listen to the unspoken.Bit by bit pieces of pain will fall away. From one survivor to another, your spirit will lighten.❤️

The iron cross … where pilgrims leave a token representing their burdens in life. I think you chose your token wisely. Vaya con Dios y buen camino.

Christ's Peace ... just like we can't put new wine in an old skin, we can't open new gifts from our Lord if our hands are full, carrying yesterday's burdens ... they do belong at the foot of the cross.

May the Christ of the Camino who placed in you the Holy Spirit walk beside you today ... And may His presence be so real you can hear his voice and feel his healing ...

No better place to leave your hat, and your pain, and your need for connection with both. Give them over to God, and move on so much lighter, and into the sonshine. Healing takes many forms. Bless you, Sean

It is amazing, right? Because his posts (since we first discovered them and him, whenever, however) have been a daily blessing, but the level to which this experience has taken them is hard to describe. Yet, he set out having no idea this would happen for us, the community his "fans." Nor did we realize it beforehand.

It’s clear from your writings that your journey on the Camino has been transformative. Continue to carry the beauty of your father’s life with you and let the tragedy rest where you placed it ~ at the cross.
