Sean, as I am reading your posts daily, I am also reading a fiction about a guy who is on a pilgrimage…of sorts. When I read these few sentences I thought of you and Jamie, and of all that you are remembering. “ It surprised him that he was remembering all this. Maybe it was the walking. Maybe you saw even more than the land when you got out of the car and used your feet.” In 2013, Pope Francis said: “Walking in community, with friends, with those who love us: this helps us to arrive precisely at the destination where we must arrive.” (From ncronline.org)
Keep walking,Sean and Jamie, and know that many more are walking with you, if not in the flesh, most definitely in spirit. Vaya con Dios.
I love this photo! Thank you for taking the time to write each day. I was afraid I'd have to do without your posts while you were walking. And the photos are spectacular! Keep walking! You both inspire me!
Perhaps when you return you can practice as a European lawyer - you’re going to be an expert in that. But I think your real gift will be helping the rest of us learn to see the everyday miracles we’re desperate for, but keep missing. 🙏
Where do you find the energy!?!!!? to jump like that! Why do I get the sense that future vacations will be much more sedentary? Like snoozing while fishing.
I am 96 and as I read your daily report I think I would love to do that walk with you. Then reality sets in as I sit in my chair. God love you for taking us along with you and Jamie. It has been a joy so far!
Keeping it real in every way. The good, the bad, the beautiful. Had me laughing out loud, too. When my husband came home from his first mission trip, he talked the most about the snoring problem and roosters. One day, they had a chicken dish for dinner. And the rooster became strangely silent.
Always a learning experience for me through this daily pilgrimage. First, there was knowing what exactly albergues were. Same as a hostel. Then this delightful cheesecake, burnt Brusgue cheesecake, which led me to research more on Brusque. Very interesting ethnicity……Having sleep apnea I’m too familiar with this subject and empathize with all who fall in this subset! As usual, the steps you take share the most interesting people, settings and food choices!
I’m impressed with how high you both can jump!
And the timing
Pretty amazing!!
Me, too, Louise!
It’s joy.

What a gift you have and are.
I’m seeing some real joy in those leaps! You two are amazing.

Thanks for the tip about cheesecake. 😉. Sounds like the walk is healing and changing you. But not your sense of humor. Thank God. 😁
love the joy of cheesecake photo. Plod on weary travelers.

I am loving reading about your journey; you have made me laugh and cry! I'm just so curious as to what day you are on every time I read it.
Cheesecake is an energy FOOD? I didn't realize that!
I’m pretty sure there was no sleep apnea in Biblical times, although much is said about seas roaring and mountains trembling

How is Jamie doing with all of this? Is she having her own spiritual awakening?
