Just before midnight. Somewhere on the Texas prairie. A 20-year-old named Mark was driving on a two-lane highway on his way home. You have to be careful when driving on an empty prairie. It’s easy to develop “prairie foot.” On a flat landscape, without landmarks, your foot tends to get heavy on the gas pedal. It’s not hard to travel upwards of 200 miles per hour by accident.
Of course, the world is not all bad. The "news" just wants you to think it is. Turn off the TV, turn off the radio, turn off your phone and your computer. Go outside, even in the heat of summer. Find yourself a shady spot and just observe nature around you. Even if you live in an apartment, go outside. Listen to the birds, who are louder than the traffic nearby. Look up at the blue, blue sky or the threatening black clouds that you know will bring cooling and refreshing rain. I walk a couple of miles in my neighborhood almost every day, and it keeps my legs and body working, and often surprises me with creatures and new flowers beside the road. Today, I saw several lizards basking in the sun. The westerly breeze cooled my sweaty skin. I love being outside, especially before and after all the hours I spend in front of a computer. Enjoy the world that God created for you, and that includes the people you see and chat with in your travels. Thank you, Sean, for the great heart-warming stories, accompanied by happy tears.
Pretty soon I'm going to see your name in my inbox, just start crying. Since you're going to do it to me anyway. lol. I'd cry over that book, too. Still haven't found the one my mama gave me when I was little. Hope it turns up in an antique shop somewhere.
A gracious good evening and happy Friday to all yall. Yo Sean, these are "gooduns" and Im as happy as a puppy with two tails that you put em in your column. I'll keep the Becca prayer line hot. Yall pray for the travelers this week. God bless the USA. And ...
I love these tender, encouraging stories! When you’re feeling down or hopeless, it lifts your spirits to know the good that happens in the world. My sister and I drove from Pittsburgh up to Lakeside, Ohio to see Sean and Bobby Horton yesterday. When we checked into our hotel, we got off the elevator and there stood Sean and Bobby! Talk about a God “wink”. They were so kind and spent time talking with us. ( the show was AMAZING ). This world is a better place with you guys in it.
There is good news all around, but you have to look for it. It is nice to see and makes you feel good. Take care of the of things that make you happy because that is a good way to feel.
There are good things that happen in the world. Sometimes even someone who is not necessarily up to good things has something happen, they see an incident, a switch gets thrown another way, and they do something really good. If they practice at it, they might even get better at doing good things. Some describe us as a really bad country with nothing but bad things happening. Not true. People make better decisions, do better things, grace happens, love prevails. We can do it. Choose to take a chance on doing something better for somebody else. It’ll make all the difference.
Yep!!!! A lot of good people all around….many can be found right here among a throng of your readers….more times than not, my spirit is lifted up from their stories and comments.
No, it’s not all bad. There are wonderful things every day, if we only let them in. Your column falls in the good. Thank you for bringing a smile and a tear every day.
And that is exactly why, when the rest of the country is still discussing a debate they watched, I am reading a column by Sean Dietrich. I love to hear about the people that make our world "not all bad!"
Just when we think life is just a bucket of ewwww, what is that!?! You show up and life skips happily on by. Thank you, you know where to find all the feels!💕

The rule is you have to dance a little bit in the morning before you leave the house because it changes the way you walk out in the world.
PS: I am 100% sure Becca knows & practices this rule each and every day. 🩷
Becca is one of the strongest persons that I know. ❤️
These are my favorite kind of stories. I am so glad folks are willing to share them.
Me too!
Me three ❣️
