So great! I love that you take time to visit with our elders- the kings & Queens stuck in nursing homes.- I worked in several and I know what your doing & feeling. My dad loved Hank Williams- wish I could sit with him & sing along right now. Miss him, I’m so Lonesome I could cry. You are a Good man Sean. My dad would like you.he read a book every day, if he was here I could turn him on to your stories, I know he’d get a kick out of them- like I do. Thanks. Kiss Jamie & pets.😘
Sean, I live my life without often interacting with persons much older than myself. I'll be 65 in 2 weeks. As I read today's column, I remembered the value of just listening to the stories of those who've been on this planet longer. Your writing is so respectful and inviting. You invite us to slow down and talk to others. You show us the value of their stories. You are a light in my world. Thank you! Blessings to you and yours.
Good morning Sean and happy Sonday to all yall. If you grew up in rural Alabama you listened to Hank. When I was a kid there were a ton of folks the knew Hank personally. He inspired so many musicians. When I think about Hank, I sing " The Ride" by David Allen Coe. What a cool story. Hey Sean, you otta do that song at the Opry.
The dogs are giving me the stink eye so I better get em fed.
You so right Carl!(ie Ricky P.) First things first. Don't wanna get them Tennessee leg hounds excited! Gone look up "The Ride." Afore you fergit Ricky, put on Dat cup a coffee!
From what I have read about Senior, it seems to be a case of over-prescribed drugs from a fake “doc” and then the real ER docs, that never treated him before, added to the mixture of drugs & alcohol already ingested (those in ER must not have run blood tests to see what was in his blood stream to begin with, as they usually do today) So incredibly sad, died so young😢🌨️💔 didn’t realize until today he was only 29!
Carol M. Dat might be what his grave marker said but he lived the life and had the body of an old man. He packed a lot in Dem 29 years. You might say dem was "Dog years!" He sure cut a dang swath when he was here!
You honored hank in such a beautiful way my dear friend with all these wonderful stories and beautiful memories and thank you for sharing them with us and thank you for being the beautiful treasure we know and love my dear friend sending lots of love and hugs ❤️🙏
I never listened Hank but as a child I used to listen a man totally blind. He will stand in morning hours, singing, in a compound of a very large size inn.I still could feel the vibration in his voice...
Im 89 I used to listen to Hank at the Parkmore drive in in Montgomery. They had a DJ in a booth there and we would go in and make requests. He played Hank a lot. I remember when he died.
Pone, you're trying to lighten us up ever day with these heartwarming stories you send out. Who picks you up? Check out this video on YouTube. About people trying to rescue a trapped baby elephant and it's mother. Teamwork. There's still some good folks around!
An awesome video! Must have taken lots of teamwork! I never thought of doing CPR on an elephant. That was amazing! I sure hope Sean is “picked up” by the love we try to share with him everyday!
Great philosophy Sy Anne! To me if you look at it, it may not right or good, and you may not can figure it, and it might not even be anybody's fault. But somewhere dere is "a reason."

What a sweet column. I loved this part especially:
“He raised six children on his own. No help.
You want to talk about strong.”
Always had mad respect for single fathers.
I loved that part too, as my post tried to convey.
It definitely worked out. And may we all be so lucky as to hear a 🐷 fart. 💗

Yo PEB ! You realize that you and I are the only exhausted roosters who remember the origins of the expression "you're so right Carl

I love Hank and his legacy, so glad to read your work on it, thank you!

Ah, another of your best pieces. You just keep them coming. I love you for it. I start each day with your column. I’m a true fan.
Brilliant, simply brilliant—both you and Hank.

I have seen that video, Pu. It's great!

Love that expression: “Things don’t always work right, but they always works out.”
I’m so tired of people who say “Everything happens for a reason.”
I usually reply, “No. Things just happen.”
Just as things don’t always work out right ... but they work out.
Eventually.
Because life goes on.
Have a great Sunday.

"Be right or good" 8th grade will only take you so fer!
Pu
Boy, Sy Anne, I get so sick of hearing that, too, "everything happens for a reason" bull s*** . I have to roll my eyes.
What better tribute to Hank than to hear how his music has touched the lives of his people.
LB did you get well yet? Hope so. Datvwas you weren't it? If it weren't dan whoever it was.
PEB
I am better. Thank you so much. Still have some coughing fits, but a whole lot better than I was when I was flat on my back and weak as a kitten.
Steady Tiger!
