The only commercial place I like canned music is in Hobby Lobby…it’s Christian instrumental and mostly older hymns. It’s soothing and calming…I find myself humming along and happy! My shopping is usually enjoyable. I agree, however, with the other chosen music in the places mentioned. And some music is ridiculously too loud!

Hobby Lobby does it right…more businesses should take note🎵

Sounds like 'this' kid had a good grasp. She nailed it, in my opinion

Gives me hope for the future, too.

Nothing worse than going to a restaurant with a friend and having to compete with the music in order to have a conversation. Makes me so mad. I asked them to please turn the music down, I can't hear my friend.

❤️💕 Today’s music (if you can call it music?) is horrible!!!😣😣

5 AM, sitting in any Waffle House these days. The jukebox, thanks to an agreement with WH, is playing random songs. Anything from Eagle to the aforementioned HIGHWAY TO HELL! There may be a few seconds in between, or nearly up to five minutes. Nobody, customers & employees alike, can stand it. That is, unless you get that very rare Skynard song. In the past, one or two of the employees was brave enough to unplug it without fear of repercussions. But that was about five cooks, and seven waitresses ago. I don’t even mention it any more. I had a running e-mail with Waffle House complaining about the noise. Their response was essentially, “We hear you! Thank you for your concern, and here’s an application to join our team!” And that was pretty much the end of that! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some burgers to flip! I hope Free Bird is playing!

My friend, deputy sheriff, went into a bar, was thrown out the front door, took out his pistol, went back in and wanted to know who threw him out. The jukebox was very loud and folks couldn't hear him so he shot the jukebox. It was quiet! He repeated the question with no answer. He told the bartender that he was under arrest for throwing him out. The bartender immediately pointed to a big fella. He threw you out. True story.

How was the police report written up?

If it was his service weapon, that’s one type of report.

If it was his personal weapon, fired in a public place, that’s another kind of report.

There were no reports. in the sixties. Every Deputy in Palm Bch County had a throwdown just in case. If I move back to Fla., it will be Polk County. The Sheriff said if someone breaks into your home, kill him. That way the county avoids medical bills. The news asked the sheriff, why the victim of a police shootout had over 160 bullets shot at him. He replied, "We ran out of bullets."

About 20 yrs ago when folks from the NE wanted gun control, a county judge .in Ga. said that every family in his county had to have a gun. There was no crime in that county after that. Criminals are not stupid. Amazing.

Good old Grady Judd!! You've got to love him! He was kidding btw. No 160 bullets fired and they didn't run out of amo. Btw Grady was just unanimously relected last week.

Thanks for the comment. What is Btw ??

I asked a retired Miami cop if he was involved the the Liberty City clean up in the 70's. He replied," My job was to shuttle more ammo from the station to the confrontation".

In Army basic training, I was asked to escort a prisoner to the brig in the back of a truck with open benches on both sides. (3/4 ton) They handed me a 45 and said, if he escapes, I would be serving his sentence. I put a round in the chamber, looked at him, and said," I'm not serving out your sentence."

I hope so. We need calm, and the voice of reason.

No more name-calling or threats toward American citizens.

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. Isaiah 11:6

The reason there is no quiet is because then you would hear God. It’s also the reason we are so busy going here and doing that…avoidance. Avoidance of ourselves, our neighbor and most of all our God. Peace on earth and goodwill toward man. 🤫🙌🏻✝️

You think that music is bad? Have you sat in the stadium for a college football game in the last several years? It’s unbearable! And it could never qualify as music in my world. I have to cover my ears but it’s so loud I’m still forced to listen to it. They must think everyone in the stadium is profoundly deaf!

Wow. What an insightful person. Bet she's home schooled. Agree wholeheartedly. I don't like most current music. I miss things like "Black Magic Woman" (1971?), "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (1970?), "When a Man Loves a Woman" (1968-9?), Satchmo (how many know who HE was!), Ole Blue Eyes - you know: mellow, melodious, words you can understand. Understand, I like a lot of other stuff, too: Tubular Bells, some Adele, especially Estes Tonne (greatest living guitarist), Gyuto Monks, Enigma, Pink Floyd, Enya, Karunesh. And that doesn't even touch the classics! My God! Swan Lake. Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Stravinsky! Hardly anyone plays that except flash mobs in Europe. There's a video of an orchestra on Danish train that is . . . well, magical. Of course, now that we're having a "tell the truth" moment on social platforms, it's coming out that recent music (rap, hard metal, hard-edged rockers) are victims of corrupt and evil . . . we won't go there. Suffice it say, I'll take a little Moody Blues over Lady Gaga any day!

Have you heard Lady Gaga sing with Tony Bennett? There was a TV special several years ago.

She has a beautiful voice. Much better than Adele.

She does, and she's a credible actress. I don't care for her music. I also don't trust her affiliations. In publicity shots, she uses all the symbolism of pedo and santanic persuasions. Sorry of that doesn't jive with your perception; dig deeper.
