My eyes are leaking again. My Mom gave me the moon;not in the sense of getting everything I wanted, but the love and patience she gave wholeheartedly to me and my sister. When you're loved like that,it IS the moon, along with the stars and the dark velvety skies.I miss her so much.

My mother just turned 94! She is the moon to me. She had seven of us and we never did without. God bless you Melinda, you will meet again.🙌🏻✝️

All the perfect details blend so well….the rare occurrence of a full moon on Xmas Eve, a mother’s special gift which took planning to make it happen, and the grand finale- a mother desiring everything to give her son, even the moon!

Mine did too. Gave me the moon and the stars, the airwaves of the world, and books of wonder and science and beauty. Mom's, great Mom's, are like that. Their housecoat may be raggedy, but they pour out their hearts, and work their fingers to the bone for their kids. To have it better than they did. To reach higher and farther. Call your Mama if you can, pay it forward to her grandkids, or your nephews and nieces. I'll do that this Christmas and stop by her resting place and leave her some flowers. Thank you Mama.

Don, I made it thru Sean's tribute to his mom, but yours has me in tears! I think I talk to my sweet mother more now than when she graced this earth. My biggest mistake!

I tried. I love my children so very much. Before bedtime every night, we'd say I love you to the moon and back. I love you more. I love you most.

The girls and I have it in tattoos now.

Mothers love to give their children the moon, Sean, and it is especially hard for single moms. But, oh, the riches they get in return!

That is a very sweet story, Sean, which moistened my eyes! I, too, have always been fascinated with the sky, not only the night sky, but the clouds in the daytime sky! When there are meteors out there, I'm out freezing looking for them. I love the moonlight on a clear night. I love it when the planets line up. The skies form a major marvelous part of our world and the Nature that flourishes in it, all created by God, our creator!
