It's pretty incredible what some of us will do for others. It's even more incredible what's been done by somebody else for the likes of us. Grace and generosity make for sunshine and even more. Thanks be.

My greatest joy is doing for others.

From 1984-1988 my home had 265 children, between the ages of 3 days to 17 years old become a part of my family. Helping to bring normalcy, understanding, & acceptance to these children by providing a roof over their heads, a bed to sleep in, clothes to wear, food for the tummies, & most importantly love in a time of turmoil was a privilege.

We as believers are instructed and desire nothing less than to give of ourselves & share His love because…

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

Jan, that is impressive and wondrous. Your love for these children in the very time of their crisis is beyond measure. I hope you have had many opportunities to see the way it has grown in them as they have shared their love with so many other people. I feel grateful just to hear it.

Jan, you spoke my heart…my greatest joy is also doing for others. Give Joy, and It Comes Right Back to You.

It should have happened before. But this is the first time my eyes teared up while reading your story, Sean. It's all too familiar. Crappiness in the TSA lines turning to kindness on the plane. What really got me, though, was the song - "You are My Sunshine." I have sung it to most of my grandbabies and will sing it to the great-grandbaby coming this fall. Hopefully they, like the grateful boy, will remember it.

I know about Hartsfield-Jackson airport. When I fly, which is rare, and go through TSA it’s always a challenge. They do a great job but going through the scanner always sets off alarms. With two knee replacements and a small plate in my neck always gets me the “hands on treatment”. They even considered taking me behind the screen but a man with two artificial knees and a partial hip replacement diverted their attention. Got a card from my Orthopedic doctor for my next trip.

Paul…you’re like the bionic man! (The underwire in my bra set off the alarm once)

So did the Steinman(n?) pins holding my compound fractured - and screwed back together collar bone in place - back in the day. After I got medical insurance and could have them removed, the young doc said, "These are ANTIQUES!"

For several years now, when my travel agent makes my reservation, she requests complimentary wheelchair escort service for me. Practically from the moment I enter the airport, I am wheeled up to the entrance of the plane. I cannot stand for very long, or walk much of a distance, due to my train-wreck back. I highly recommend this option for everyone with any degree of disability.

P.S. And you will love bypassing the TSA lines!

The pure beauty of kindness! Absolutely straight from God Himself. How very blessed the lady and her foster son are, to have been matched together! And you, Mr. Sean, were blessed to be a witness. Now you have blessed us with the story and I’m crying again. God is good!

Thank you, Penny and Judy, for sharing your story❣️ My own sweet memory of my Mother, as her health began to decline in the nursing home, was to bring her a daily scoop of her favorite Baskin-Robbin’s, We’d play the high-low guessing game of what it cost. Such fun!

The Day she went to Heaven marked the end of our ice cream routine. Hmmmm…the Sunshine Song and Ice Cream…such sweet memories💕

A story you missed, Sean,. But what you knew you told well, and yes, the boy takes good care of his foster mom, because obviously, she takes good care of him when they are on the ground! Ain't never gonna know what he's gone through and what she has done for him, but whatever it is, he greatly appreciates it and sings to her to calm her. What a sweet teen, who will go on to do more good things in this world. She has raised him well. God is with both of them. Keep those stories acomin'. Sean. We love reading them. And I used to love to fly. Not so much any more. It's not an adventure any more, more of a trial these days.

I quit watching media about 10 years ago because all it did was perpetuate fear, anger, and in my humble opinion (you know what they say about opinions, right) deceit. I got my face out of my phone and started seeing all the wonderful people performing selfless acts of kindness. Sometimes as simple as a kind word to helping people in dire need. It is stories like this and what I see in my daily life that inspires me to not only be better but do better. Thanks for my early morning cup of "be kinder, gentler, have the courage/integrity to do what is right, and just do better". Thank you.
