Oh it's on! I'm going! I'm an RN working the night shift the past 14 years in behavioral health on a hospital psych floor. I read your posts every night at midnight and they honestly give more meaning to my work than anything else I can think of. My job is to try to help people who have experienced loss and trauma similar to you, Sean, and to people who are consumed with thoughts of suicide, and I'm bolstered by your perspectives and wit and southern charm practically every night. Your writings feed my soul so I can be a better nurse to the struggling. No way am I missing the chance to see you at the opry!

Congratulations Sean! Wonderful news and I’ll be buying that album. I would love to come, so if I can swing it, I’ll be there. I’m going to try to sit near your Daddy, cause he’ll be there too.

Congratulations on another appearance and the album. It’s clear you and your Dad were close. You admired him greatly. Maybe the little kid in you still thinks there’s something more you could have done or been to make him stay.

We have no control in life, especially of people. Only our reactions. I imagine there were stormy seas of emotions to navigate after he left. But your Dad was here long enough to lay a foundation. And you have built a fine house on that foundation.

I’m not speaking of a successful career. But making the least feel they matter, are seen and loved. And inspiring the rest of us to do the same. Would it have been so if your Dad had stayed? There will be answers to all our questions one beautiful day.

There's a better home a-waiting

In the sky, Lord, in the sky

Oh Sean, this is such exciting news! And I truly believe your Daddy is smiling down from heaven! He is just so proud of you! We are proud of you too! Our country is just so broken, but you in your small special way bring healing and comfort to all who read your writing. You bless and inspire us daily. I hope everyone in America comes to know you and love you like we do. God bless you and your sweet wife!

How absolutely wonderful!!! I am as proud of and for you as if you were my own son! I know for sure that you have more than made your Daddy proud. I can almost hear him saying, "That's my boy!" The "family circle" you and your Daddy share will never be broken. You have made sure of that, and here you have expanded that circle to include all of us!! THANK YOU FOR 8NCLUDING ALL OF US in you family circle and for inviting us to your release party!! You've made this old Mom very proud,!

And don't you think for a minute that your daddy isn't there! Hell, it ain't nothing for an angel to teleport into the Grand Ole Opry, of which he has an intimate knowledge. And you can bet he'll be dragging along a bunch of friends. He'll be up in the balcony, and he'll look like he did that night you got a flat. And a lot of us will be there in spirit, too.

T Burt, you needs to Teleport yourself up 'har as well- won't be da same without ya!

Every morning when I read your post, I either laugh or smile and occasionally cry. You evoke emotion in me. I am so excited for you to be returning to the Grand Ole Opry! And an album! Wow! You deserve this! I am so proud of you. When you talked about making your Daddy proud, I relate. I didn't realize until I read your words that in all I have done, that is what I am doing, trying to make my parents proud of me.

Me, too!! I didn’t realize what I’ve been doing until I read what Sean said today.

Congratulations. What a great thing. Not just a third invitation, but an album to boot.

A friend who is also a pastor sang that song, along with his two brothers and two sisters, and all their kids, at the close of his momma’s funeral. It’s tender just imagining them all singing.

I expect there might be a few folks listening who will shed a tear or a few when you sing it. Whether you shed a tear or you don’t, I expect your daddy will be so proud.

Never thought of it but every family should sing it together!

Dear Sean,

You don’t know me from Adam’s housecat, but i’m just so happy for you. I wish I could be there to hug your neck. Congratulations!

Wow I’m thrilled for you Sean. Just googled your songs & saw a short talk followed by the first line of Will The Circle Be Unbroken. My goodness you have such an uplifting tone to your voice, I’m praying I can get the CD when it’s released. Doubt it over here in South Africa, so I’ll just pray for you when you sing that beautiful song.

I bet one of us can find a way to get one to you.

Dang, Sean! Congratulations! You must be -- well, the list is too long for what you must be feeling. Thinking. What I wouldn't give to be there! I see history in the making! But you can tell us about it. Won't this be your 3rd? We're all that proud as if you were kin!

There is no doubt in my mind, Sean, that your Daddy is standing & pacing up there telling everyone h”Look, there’s MY BOY! Listen to ‘im; he’s singing at the Opry! “ He’s so proud of you & the man you’ve become. And when you start his favorite I’m absolutely certain he is joining in & wouldn’t be surprised if all the angels chimed in!

Keep us posted how to purchase that album, please.

You are a good person, Sean Dietrich, you surely do your parents proud. God bless you.

Right now I’m feeling what we always used to say at home. “I love you a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck!” We all love you and are so proud of you Bubba! Do it for your dad! Do it for us!

Gosh, Sean. I’m speechless, but my fingers still work. Somewhere along the way, as you were growing up and trying to come to terms with why your father left, as you were being nurtured by all those wonderful women in your life and fed all that good southern food, you, Sean Dietrich, opened yourself up to a possibility that grew into greatness. Though you could have grown cold and bitter, your heart remained tender and you attracted all of these amazing people, dogs, cats and love into your life. Someone was watching over you. Someone would not let you become another statistic. Someone loves you.
