I'm in Gulfport, MS. The weather in the north central part of the state was stormy and unfortunately tornado ridden last night for your debut on THE OPRY. My radio reception was all over the place, Thankfully however I heard most of your performance. AWESOME!! You brought down the HOUSE!! Your singing and OH man smokin the ivories on the piano! Loved the song selections; you did Hank, Sr much justice! John Dietrich was busting with pride last night in heaven! A standing ovation before and after! The emcee stated he couldn't recall that ever happing before at The Opry. ENCORE! ENCORE!

Great story Pone! But when one door closes, another one opens. Love the stories about your "Old Man." Whatever his shortcomings, he must have been a very talented and entertaining guy. Complex feelings. I can relate. You keep talking about your failures, but I say whatever the hell you're doing, KEEP IT UP!

THE STORY I'M WAITING TO HEAR IS THE ONE ABOUT THIS LAST TRIP TO THE OPERY! MR. ED, WHY THE LONG FACE, SUGAR- as Minnie would say! A lot of good old ghosts in that building.

Your friend,

Pubert

Dear Sean,

I have a feeling there was not only a standing ovation at the Grand Old Opry but in heaven with your dad leading the pack!

I sent a prayer your way last night…it sounds like it was heard and answered!!

Thanks for sharing your God given gifts with all of us.

Blessing to you and your wife.

Well, this one made me tear up too! Doesn’t take much. I sure wish you could have had your dad later on in your life. Those of us who did sure did take things for granted. God bless Minnie Pearl, she must have been a real sweetheart on And off the stage. God be with you bubba!!

I’m sure there were ghosts there last night. Can’t wait to read about it. I hope you heard a Mr. Ed laugh.

I was able to attend the Opry last night and we had a wonderful time. We sat in the nosebleed section but it didn’t matter as they had projection screens and the sound was fantastic. Sean you brought the fans to their feet at the beginning and after you finished. I was amazed at the number of us. I know your family was so proud and happy for you at your debut appearance. I have no doubt after last night that you will be invited back. Congratulations on a memorable night. Can’t wait to read your blog on what you were feeling as you stood on that stage where so many of the greats in country music have stood. I know you were “just so proud to be there!”

Beautiful. And now, you are not watching, YOU are the show! How cool is that, my friend? I hope lots of people are there to greet you, including your old man with the Mister Ed laugh.

Gosh, I'm glad to know about the memory of you and your father going to the Grand Ole Opry. I don't want to go to Hell. Instead, I'd like my eternity to be filled with music of many kinds, including classical and country, and also with a writer who's full of storytelling and music, too. In the meantime in the here-and-now, I'll be seeing you soon!

I grew up listening to my Grandmother tell stories of the old timers that played on the Opry. I don’t think she ever saw a show as a matter of fact I only know of about four times she ever left the state of Alabam. Wish we could turn back time and see some of those old shows with her. Funny how someone else’s story can bring back fond memories or loved ones. Keep writing.

Can’t wait to hear about last night. We had quite the thunderstorm. I’m so close yet so far. For me to get to Opryland at night by myself would be quite the feat. Love you, Sean!
