Morning. I went down to the lobby and ordered a coffee. I was carrying my banjo. Nobody even looked twice at me. “Room for cream?” the guy said. “No, thank you.” I waited for him to stare at my banjo and ask what was in the case. Everyone asks. But not in Nashville. Banjos here are superfluous. In fact, it’s more unusual NOT to be carrying a banjo in Nash-Vegas.
Good thing you are still young, Sean. Your legs will heal quickly. Love how you still pinch yourself—how you are still in awe that you are where you are. We love you and believe in you. Thanks for writing about tonight. Know you must be exhausted!
You owned that stage tonight! I listened on the radio and was just thrilled when you did the whole National Anthem. I can’t wait to see you in Oxford, AL!
Every time you do this Opry thing, I'm reminded of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page." Who knew the national anthem would bring down the house? It's rarely meant so much. Thanks for doing that.
I bet you did break both legs!! I can hear you entertaining your audience right now! This column is so rich in humor, as I’m sure tonight’s performance was, as well as your incredible musical gifts! Thank you for sharing yourself with us daily, Sean … and thank you, Jamie, for sharing him with us ♥️
p.s. My granddaddy used to buck dance. This brought back a great memory.
Hi Sean, Maybe you don’t realize how loved you are. But you are dearly loved and welcomed into a lot of good folks lives. Maybe you don’t know how to design a rocket ship. But you know how to tell others a good story, one that lasts. 💜
My wife and I listened to your show last night over the internet and loved it. You deserve your dream and a loving audience. Keep breaking that leg buddy! 😎
Of all the fireplugs I know - you're easily the most interesting (and undoubtedly the smartest)! Sean, you were born to fly - thanks to you and Jamie for taking us up there with you.
Appropriate jitters for breaking a leg. Sounds like you must’ve done all right. I bet they’ll be calling again. One of these days I’ll get there for it. What a time that will be.
Sean, I saw you at the Opry and I still pinch myself that I really saw Sean Dietrich, Sean of the South at the Grand Ole Opry. And that applause you hear every time you perform is not polite applause. That is the applause of people who love you and are grateful they are there to hear you in person. Keep singing, playing, telling your stories. Oh, and break a leg.
My dear friend I know you have such a great performance and not just for the people there but for your family each and every one of them and I know you made them extremely proud and happy as are we of you 🙏
Sorry we missed it. Grandparent duty. But thanks so much for being so gifted as a story teller we could feel what you felt, hear what you hear, and smell those socks. You were meant for the stage, Sean Dietrich. And all of us are better when you’re on it. Congratulations.

Man, I would’ve loved to see your grandmother buck dance. Emmylou Harris can tear up the floor buck dancing. What a heritage!
We’re all proud of you, Sean!
I love listening to the folks who stand in that circle & share their talent & love of country with the world.
I wasn’t able to be there last night but next time I’m 100% there.
Jamie- thanks for loving your man and supporting him & his dreams 24/7.
Sean- keep your dreams alive. Keep on keeping on. Don’t ever doubt yourself. Remember always just how much you’re loved. 💕

You're a pro at playing at the Grand Ole Opry now, Sean! Fershure they will invite you back again in the near future.

Third time to the big stage? You might be the most humble famous person we know !
Love you, man.

OK. That’s it. I gotta come hear you play, Sean. Or, ever make it northward? Like, Minneapolis, Minnesota?
Or, how about Red Wing, Minnesota-beautiful old Mississippi River town, home of Red Wing Shoes? My hometown.
So happy for you, Sean.
