I've often wondered why I, an adult, have survived multiple cancers caused by a rare syndrome since 2006 yet children have died. Prayers and love to those like you, Victoria, who lost a child are always in my heart. Always.
You have no idea what this means to this mother’s heart. I lost my 3-yr old youngest son seven years ago, and my infant daughter 5 years before that. Wasn’t expecting to cry this morning, but they were happy tears, so thank you. It was like reading Henry Van Dyke’s poem, “Gone from my Sight” in story form. You calm hearts and soothe souls, Sean. Never stop.
You are such a beautiful soul, Sean Dietrich. What an amazing tribute to a sweet little girl. You poured your love onto the page. I know that it costs you a lot, this love you have for your fellow man. Please know that there are a LOT of us that you’re never likely to meet who love you right back!!
In a world where true hope seems to have diminished, you have reignited it with this piece. And, somehow we can believe that all will eventually be okay! Thanks!
Oh, it’s so hard losing a child. When a child suffers it often seems like they may face those results with more honesty, dignity, and character than we adults can sometimes muster. May Riley’s welcome into God’s presence be as big and full as what you’ve described, with all the saints gathered round to celebrate her. Let it be so.
I’d like to imagine this was the spectacular welcome my not-quite-7 year old son received. Your words touched my heart, Sean, and I thank you for creating this wonderful image.
I knew who this was about in the first few lines… she was very loved and people knew her by her first name. What a calming peaceful tribute to Riley Faith.
Aww, now, you got me bawlin' but it's okay. No one could have written a better obit ever! I can see it all so clearly. And how many tears dropped on your laptop while you wrote it? Have a grand time, Riley!
God through Jesus, in speaking about children, told us that the kingdom of heaven is meant for “such as these”. The love from a child is true love in its most innocent purest form. All “kids” go to heaven. For the rest of us, the door to Heaven can be seen through the eyes of a child.
Faith…..all about faith…..may we, too, continue in faith for a place we can only, right now, imagine. Even faith the size of a mustard seed, we are told, can move mountains! Heartfelt prayers for the family and friends of Riley Faith.
The imagery of approaching heavens gates with health and youth returning with every step is beautiful. Prayers it will comfort all who’ve lost a loved one to disease or simply old age.
Welcome home, Riley Faith❣️ What a perfect description of your liftoff into heaven! I could actually hear the angels fluttering excitingly around……Beautiful, beautiful tribute, Sean❣️
Your beautiful words consoled my heart. I lost my three year old son and I would like to think his Heavenly reception was the same. Thank you Sean.

I’m sure it was. Love to you.
Much love to you and yours Victoria!
Victoria, I do believe your son's reception was wonderous.
“What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face
The One who saved me by His grace Then He’ll take me by the hand
And lead me through the Promise Land Oh what a day, glorious day that will be
They’ll be no sorrow there
No more burdens to bear
No more sickness and no more pain
No more parting over there
And forever I will be
With the One who died for me
Oh what a day, glorious day that will be”

What a beautiful tribute party!
Kids under accountable age are "Little Angles" walking on earth!
No wonder, they granted eternal life in paradise!
Amen
