This may be wrong, and Sean, forgive me, but I'd like to solicit prayers for a man facing death by cancer. His name is Clay, and he's been diagnosed with throat cancer. He's my mechanic for 13 years and a fine man in his 60s. I'm thanking the Creator for healing every time I think of Clay. The power of prayer is unimaginable. I hope some of you will join me. I cant think of a better bunch of people than Sean's readers to do this. Thank you.

Angels don’t always wear white with fluffy wings. Sometimes they wear uniforms &/or clothes just like you and I.

Clarence showed us in “It’s a Wonderful Life”

Dudley showed us in “The Preacher’s Wife.

Albert H. Wilkinson, Jr. MD showed me when a neuroblastoma was found “by accident” in my 13 month old daughter’s chest in 1977.

You’re absolutely right, Jan. I had a cancerous tumor found on my right kidney when I went through tests to determine that I had a severe UTI.

John, the same "accident" happened to me recently and similarly in 2006 which led to many years of surviving multiple cancers. And, Jan, how is your daughter doing now?

She had a reoccurrence in 1980 but has been healthy for 43 yrs. Thanks for asking.

After mopping my face from the tears, I reread the woman’s prayer along with the officer’s statement about the civilian. Not only does our Lord have boundless mercy but a sense of humor too. We are loved without doubt. Amen.

Great article: I like a good ‘two-fer’. Tears and a smile.

As a believer in Christ, I don’t think we’re supposed to test Jesus’s love for us. But, for people who don’t already know the love of Jesus, He can show those like the woman on the overpass how much He does love us. Wonderful story.

Hi John, Good point but I think the message may be that Jesus is a test for us. Will we let Him save us or will we fight and scream until we die?

Expand full comment

I agree... will we let him save us?

Expand full comment

I believe He will and does when we stop trying to save ourselves… or destroy ourselves. We have to surrender. Which isn’t or wasn’t easy for some of us.

I can see that.

...and I strongly suspect that the name of the ANGEL who rescued her might have been pronounced HaySOOS.

You more than did the story justice.

Amen! He certainly did! That’s because he’s a great writer!

There are no coincidences. Everything is a part of God’s plan. As this special lady found out, when you need results, even in 5 minutes, call on the name of Jesus. He is listening.

Amen!! He is listening and waiting for us!

God always answers our prayers. Granted, it may not be in a way we hoped - but, rather needed.

Ever think He answered her prayer in this exact manner - just so you could hear about it, write about, and share His love with the world?

Good job doing following His lead and doing your part Sean!

OMG, What a wonderful story on this Sunday morning. This lady so wanted and needed to know the love of Jesus. She may have asked for it the wrong way, but no matter what Jesus is always there for us. We just must be Faithful ! ✝️

Of course, testing the Creator is a no-no, but we do it all the time. One more drink. One more piece of pie. Driving drunk. How many ways we ignore commonsense, or our conscience, and therefore the Creator. There are some limits that can't be tested -- and thrive. Many if us have been there and are thankful that we defied the odds -- and you remind us just how blessed our lives are. It's been a wild ride, but I'm glad we stuck around!
