I dearly hope you know the magnitude of those words. I hope you feel the breath being taken as we acknowledge this gift. I hope you know that you are so tied to my 81 year old very heart and soul that a prayer for you and yours perches daily on my lips and and inside my head. I have told you unabashedly that I love you and your thoughts rest in my being. I am acutely thankful God brought you to my life. I am.
Beautifully written, Brenda. You made me cry reading your comment. That usually belongs to Sean. 😊 you put into words what I feel about Sean’s place in my life. Thank you and thank you Sean for your prayers...I feel them all around me.
I’d give just about anything to be able to express myself like you have, Brenda. Thank you for being the voice of some of us who have trouble truly expressing ourselves.
I love your heartfelt comment, Brenda! I love Sean too! I raised 2 boys, and I feel as proud of Sean as I do my own sons! He pulls at my heartstrings on a daily basis, and I pray for him every day. Now I'll be praying for you too!
I read your letter to me. Yes, it was to me. I was just getting ready to send a text to my husband’s siblings to tell them to come east to see him. He wants to die and he is starting to slip into dementia and they have put off visiting long enough. Thank you. I believe in the scripture that when 2 or 3 are gathered together He will grant their request. Surely the Internet is a gathering.
Linda, I've just said a prayer for you, your husband, and your whole family that peace and comfort will abide with you all and that somehow that desired visit will take place. I'm betting my prayer is by far not the only one being offered for y'all.
"Gathering together" can be mental, spiritual, psychological, and all of us who gather here to read Sean's latest, that's definitely a gathering like no other. We're having a conversation -- static, disjointed, long-winded at times -- with strangers we respect and accept because they are here.
Amen. Prayers for you and your husband and for his siblings to make the journey before it’s too late. People always say oh if heaven had a phone or visiting hours what they wouldn’t give but how often do they get in a car or pick up their phone on this side when it could make more of a difference?
Last evening at church, seven hours before reading your prayer, I thanked God for you, Sean, and for all your friends and followers. I asked for God’s blessings on you and yours. And now I read your prayer and know that we are asking for the same good things. And I know we will all be blessed, if with nothing else, with love, which is the very best thing. 🙏❤️🥰
Sean, I cannot put into words how much I enjoy your posts. I look forward to them every day. Today I saw the picture of you that you posted. You have been selling yourself way short, my friend. You are a handsome man and you should never think otherwise. Nor should you sell yourself short on your writing. Keep on writing and doing what you do best. But don’t put yourself down. This is a true compliment . . . . you remind me so much of Lewis Grizzard, a famous local writer/humorist who lives on in the hearts of so many, including me.
Dear God, please let this be the day that Cheryl’s words get through to Sean🙏
Let this be the day that Sean finally sees what a HANDSOME man He created👨🦰, what an amazing talent for WRITING He gifted him📇, and most of all, the kind, generous, and loving HEART He blessed him with, Amen🙏
Cheryl, Seaner is the Master of Self-Deprecation, thru his clever humor. It's a natural part of his writing style; his schtick, if you will. It elicits nice, warm and encouraging words from us, his audience; i.e., validation that he is, indeed, a worthy writer, which we all know he is.....and, I have a feeling, so does he. ❤️ 🤗. We all love you, Seaner. Keep on keepin on.
Ah, normalcy! A day without catastrophe. Many years ago when my husband and I were young and adventurous, I called my dad to tell him we were moving to Alaska, explaining that we were in a rut. My dad answered, “ One day, Sis, you’re going to find out a rut’s not a bad place to be. I’m there, Daddy. Thanks for your prayers, Sean. I can use them.
Now there’s a word a wisdom—“a rut’s not a bad place to be”. Everyone is in one at one time or another in their life. The challenge is to wait for the lesson which often isn’t revealed until hindsight.
I loved every word. You should know that I laugh every time I read the last line because I chose to read find out where you can see Sean live. And I pronounce live with a short i. And I think , well that is what I am seeing every time I read his words of power. I will have the last day of year 84 tomorrow and on my birthday on Monday I will begin to celebrate everyday of year 85 , It was 19 below at Brasstown Bald on that day in 1940, May all of us for whom you pray have everything that we need.
Happy Upcoming Birthday, Alyce!! My mom would’ve been 89 this coming Valentine’s Day. Her name was Alyce and, yes, it’s spelled with a “y”. I hope you have the best birthday ever!!
Happy Birthday, Ms. Alyce from another faithful reader of Sean's wit and wisdom! I hope you are well celebrated today, and I wish you many unexpected blessings in the coming year.
Laughter and normalcy. If you’ve been through the worst life can throw at you, it is indeed a wonderful blessing. Praying for several right now for whom a laugh or an hour of normalcy would be a great relief. ❤️
Pone, after reading all dat, I'm thinking this guy needs to lighten the load a wee bit. Not that there aren't limitless problems out there, and we all need to help others, but da Lord helps them that helps huemselves. You can't carry the weight of the world around forever. You need to pick your battles and count on the Lord to do the rest. He can tote dem! But dat's just one old country boy's opinion. RicCy, did you get bogged down dere wid dem gophers? AWOL! Don't make me come up dere!
Thank you Sean. I pray for all of you too . I grew up in a time of patience, love, empathy, tolerance and restraint. I see that slipping away everywhere. But I still feel it in here. So coming in here every day is medicinal for me. May God Bless you all and enrich your lives.
Son…..you’ve got a really good heart. Really good……I’m not sure your dogs are all tied to the same leash but hey, who cares ? A good heart is waaaay better than just being sane. Trust me …..
Sean, I know you speak tongue-in-cheek when you downplay your words but I beg of you to never say that your words are “feeble”. From the responses I’ve read to your blogs or whatever they’re called, your words have been a godsend to a lot of people, including myself. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you face to face this evening along with your good friends Three On A String.

That was just like reading a warm hug. Beautiful.

Brenda - beautiful words, well spoken. You spoke for lots of us this morning.
I love your heartfelt comment, Brenda! I love Sean too! I raised 2 boys, and I feel as proud of Sean as I do my own sons! He pulls at my heartstrings on a daily basis, and I pray for him every day. Now I'll be praying for you too!
Thank you for that generous comment, and especially for the prayers. What a tender heart you have.
And you as well, my friend!
So beautifully said from a beautiful heart I'm sure. It touched mine.

I like that, even social media and the internet can be a gathering. God bless.

Sending prayers from Ft. Worth, TX and I know I'm not alone.

Love you and your stories, Sean Dieterich!
Yes. Lewis Grizzard! But Sean expresses so much love and faith. Love that about him. 💕💕💕

Leigh, your last 2 sentences are words of wisdom of your own!!
If you move to Alaska, the local folks will ask you. "What are you running from."
Lol, good one, Matt.

Goodness and light.
’Tis said, “Those who shine light into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves."
I joined you in prayer tonight. I added a few of my own. Then I asked God to cover you.

Yor friend,
Pubert Earle
I believe if we do the best we can and know when to surrender the outcome to God, he'll take it from there. Have one more decent day!
Pubert. I hate to disagree with you but the Lord doesn’t help those that help themselves. He helps those that CAN’T help themselves.
Well put Ed. Who could get through the day tryin to worry about hundreds of things? Plus it's gone break da boy's sunny demeanor!
