As always, you continue to grab my heart. As one of the thousands of faceless vets, thank you.

So here I am, bawling at 5:30 in the morning, over a performance in a tiny forgotten place no one ever heard of. Only this is the backbone and grit and strength to be a part of the wonderful and complex experiment called The United States of America. Every American feels it, and right now, we need that. I bet there wasn't a dry eye in the place, just as you have reached out and touched our hearts with that essential, unremitting, life-long love of country. God bless everyone who ran into sure death, and thank God they survived. Anyone who has visited The Wall or seen the video of the "angel flights" has mourned the losses even if you didn't suffer one yourself.

I say it often, especially these last few years: we are bred to the bone with love of our nation, and woe beside the fool who challenges her -- or us. The people of all the Boaz towns will always rise to defend our freedom, and thank God for that. Thank you for your service.
