Sean we have lost our human touch. I do not self check out. I en joy people and Ilke to talk with those checking me out those in line with me. You Never know when a smile or a kind word is all they need to brighten their day. So much for a 89 year old lady's opinion in who in1 month

will be 90 years old.

You never know when you will run into a "good guy." Although we are among them every day. However, we may not be there when they do something wonderful like this. They just go about their lives quietly helping people whether anyone notices them or not. They are Unsung Angels. I don't like self checkout. I always end up yelling at it when it's telling my that my item didn't scan or I didn't put the item in the bag. I do self-checkout ONLY if I'm in a hurry without time to wait in line and actually communicate with a person. And yes, I've talked to many a person in line with me, whether I know them or not. Nearly always they reply and we end up in a decent conversation. Once in a while, you run into the rude ones, but rarely! We all need more human interaction. And often we get it right here on Sean of the South. Have a blessed day, Sean!

I sat here, reading, clearly with mist in the corners of my eyes. I am 84, still in business, but I can sense t hose days around the corner. But, thankfully, my wife is 24 years younger than I and I believe I can lean back on her if the time comes. By the way, I am an avid reader/collector of these writings. Thank you.

Sometimes I wish Sam Walton was still alive. I hear he did things like that. But for the grace of God go you and I

I’m lucky to live in a small enough town where the pace is still slow and people still talk to each other and help each other. It’s a nice way of life.

Us too and we love it!!!

Still happens every now and then. My dad was always so good at teasing and getting cashiers to laugh and talk. I try to talk with them and ask how they’re doing any chance I get. Blessings still happen, sometimes through us, sometimes through the folks just doing their jobs. Thank goodness.

Unless the Lord tarries, this will be me in about 15-20 years. I have no family to rely on for help of any kind. Not really looking forward to getting much older than I am now.

Cultivate friendships while you can, John! You may be surprised at who family can be. 💕

I have lots of friends but they have families of their own. I do appreciate the wonderful advice.

Old age kind of sucks but considering the alternative I guess I'm happy to be here. 🙂

O my and I bet his driving wasn’t a good idea .. the Walmart man was a minor hero

Have a blessed day….🐸

Love the kindness of the story because we shall all get there one day BUT the sad thing is that he put him in the drivers seat ! If he cannot walk how can he drive safely without causing severe harm to someone or some family ! We need to wake up and realize we must create a solution to help dangerous drivers for the sake of other drivers and passengers !

I totally agree. Anyone too weak to walk out of Walmart on their own, shouldn't be driving. The Walmart guy was nice, but there must be a better way to assist someone with health issues. Hospital social services usually will not discharge someone that weak unless they have someone to provide care at home. I'm sure there are exceptions, but if this man is on Medicare, Home Health Services are definitely in order.

No Sean, those days are NOT gone, Thank God.

If only there were MORE people saying “Have a Blessed Day” what a better world it would be.

Pass it on.
