Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Thank you, Sean. We are all so stirred up when we watch the daily barrage of news of war and unrest. Peace can seem so far away. It can start with each of us. It’s like the mustard seed that is so tiny but grows into the biggest tree in the garden. Let it start with me!

There is nothing wrong with praying for world peace. Think big. We serve a big God so ask for big things.

John 14:27. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Starting your day with the Peace that Jesus gives is the best way to start your day. Peace

No doubt some of us will think big, and that’s fine. But I’m more of a steady Tortoise than a speedy Hare. As long as they both start their day as you said…”with the Peace that Jesus gives” all will be well. 🙏

I have grave concerns about what is happening in our country and world right now. I find Doctor King’s words provide me with the courage required to face the current situation. Speaking out provides peace knowing I am doing what I can to bring sorely needed change.“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

I pray that I will not worry, especially about things out of my control. I suppose that is the same thing as praying for peace. God knows what he is doing. Take care

Lisa, be one who stands up for what she believes. What you think is out of your control may not be. Because one voice, along with many more, can changes things. Become an activist; many grassroot groups are around your area; if you join one it will make you feel more hopeful and you will be DOING SOMETHING!!! for YOUR COUNTRY 💯%

I love this poem:

A Portable Paradise (2019)

And if I speak of Paradise,

then I'm speaking of my grandmother

who told me to carry it always

on my person, concealed, so

no one else would know but me.

That way they can't steal it, she'd say.

And if life puts you under pressure,

trace its ridges in your pocket,

smell its piney scent on your handkerchief,

hum its anthem under your breath.

And if your stresses are sustained and daily,

get yourself to an empty room - be it hotel,

hostel or hovel - find a lamp

and empty your paradise onto a desk:

your white sands, green hills and fresh fish.

Shine the lamp on it like the fresh hope

of morning, and keep staring at it till you sleep.

Peace. One action. One smile. One step in the part of the world that is mine. One ripple joined with all of the others worldwide.

I like the idea of “small peace” cause that is where it starts with a person and when we keep that peace alive inside of us it is like throwing a rock in a pond and watch the ripples slowly work toward the shore. The small peace inside of us grows and vibrates out into the world. Yep, I’m for small peace!

The first words of Pope Leo XIV, although I will write them in Spanish and he spoke them in Italian…

La Paz sea contigo

This was my greeting on my recent Camino to all the pilgrims and what I sincerely wish for each and every one of us.

I find peace from time to time. I realize that I’m okay and the world is okay because I stopped being afraid. It’s mostly the fear of being wrong. When I admit that I don’t know what the heck I’m doing, I can relax and enjoy Someone very strong who does. ❤️

Peace ~ the feeling I get while watching a bubbling creek, sitting in nature and listening to Gods creations, knowing the true, real love from another human, giving, accepting and not expecting 🌺 That first cup of coffee.

Thanks for this. It's a keeper. Back before the Internet, we would tell people to post this on a stall in the men's bathroom, using a Sharpy to make sure it stayed forever.

‘Peace’ is my starting word for my daily wordle. NYTimes bot tells me that while it’s a good start, it’s unique and only used by .01% of all users. But I like to think of it as my daily prayer, offered up to the Lord for his consideration. I get what you mean, though. Everyone says they want peace but then turn around and curse their kids for messes, spouses for burnt food, complain about litter but won’t stoop to pick it up. Or they hate so and so for their political, religious or lack of beliefs, or think it’s ok to key people’s cars or leave burning crosses on peoples lawns or hit and run or road rage or be litterbugs. Ok I’m trying hard not to hate litterbugs. But my point is that peace is within our power right within ourselves. And you can achieve it by gardening, taking a walk, going to the beach or sitting under a tree or on your porch or front step. Or wherever is best for you to deal with your emotions in a gentle way. By the way, I saw my first big butterfly today. Have a great day, all

They always looked down on me because I was a stick welder. Yes, and my socks were smoking from all the sparks. Like a giant sparkler on the 4th of July. At least, I got a little attention.

God made it so simple. Let go and let God. The tortoise was found at the finish line, having run the race,
