I have a t-shirt that says, “The more I know people, the more I love my dogs” ~ ❤️🐾

Most of my t-shirts proclaim my love for Dawgs! “If my dogs can’t go, I’m not coming” “Dog kisses fix anything” “You either love dogs or you’re wrong” ❤️🐾

My senior Chihuahua mix also knows who is the alpha and who is the "soft touch". My wife is the alpha and Deliah knows that she can sit by me, where my wife can't see her, and I will give her a bite or two. I know she doesn't need a French fry, but she wants it so bad, so she just stares at me. She gives me that "If you were on the floor, I would feed you" look.

I believe your Chihuahua mix and my German Shepherd may have been separated at birth...

We can’t change anyone’s heart. That’s God’s job. The world will not validate you. God made dogs to do that. ❤️

This morning our dog Benny was next to our bed waiting for me to get up. He followed me out to the kitchen to see what was for breakfast. When we go to the local farmers market he will watch us drive away, take a nap on the comfy bed in his yard. He will be waiting for us when we come home. I look forward to being around the fun people at the farmers market. But I really look forward to coming home to Benny.

As a cookie, cake and Blueberry Muffin vendor at the Salem (Virginia) Farmers Market, I appreciate your dedication to your local farmers market. Thanks for shopping local.

I don't have a dog anymore. They need their people and I still travel long distance to see my family. But I could be a dog like the ones Sean describes. I have been a widow for getting close to 3 years now so I sleep and eat just like the dog's he describes. I am 71 years old and enjoy each day sleeping, reading, eating, doing some housework or outside work, but I do not like to sweat so working is limited. Sean's dogs and I would get along great! No pressure!

Yes, they are the best and so intelligent they can suss people out in a minute.God sent us animals because he knows we have a hard time with humans who can't love unconditionally ♥️🕊️x.

A cat will keep your ego in check, haha.

A dog thinks: They look after me, feed me, give me a place to sleep and play with me, they must be God.

Fast food joints would go under if they depended upon my patronage. It’s so expensive and extremely unhealthy. Besides, nothing beats a home cooked meal where you’re in control.

You can’t teach an old dog a new trick may just be true. I’m so thankful to be brought up when and where the good Lord saw fit; rural Virginia and poor. It took a while to realize it.

A home cooked meal is the best! I miss my grandmother and mom’s cooking so much. I spend way too much time eating fast food in a car!

My mom and grandmother were excellent cooks too. Both were stay at home moms for the most part, affording the time to plan and prepare meals. Sad that most kids today won’t have those kinds of memories.

I agree…..eating around the table, sharing a home cooked meal is always the best fellowship…..a lot of love!

One thing I love about cats is the challenge. They are supposed to be untrainable and they think they are the only "God" in the house.

Plus personality wise cats are like snowflakes, no two alike. I have one who I swear is on the spectrum, my biggest challenge!

So very true! As retirees we are traveling too much for pets, but I will have a dog again one day. I miss having them. Both our children have them so when we visit we get lots of puppy (they are all puppies to me) time. Give your dogs some love for me!

It is scary how many facts you wrote there. Our society is based on moving in automobiles everywhere. Eating fast food too often and fast. Engaging with electronics online instead of with humans like we used to. My trip to Europe opened my eyes to a calmer world. It was in the early 80s and trains went everywhere. You could go to work on a train. They had shopping streets meaning you walked them. American life styles are not conducive to good mental and physical health. Sometimes I think Americans use pets to substitute for family or friends. Or even relationships. I love animals and my entire family has them in their houses. Always have. If only we were as wonderful as our dogs think we are......

Dogs and I are close kin. Not just my own, but any Dog that crosses my path. We will have eye contact, swapping understandings. When a Dog is with a Person, I greet the dog first. I ask before petting, both the Dog and their Person. Not everyone is built this way, I understand and hope those have someone in their life that gives the same connection.

I was born in 1958, a Dog Year.

To dare run the risk of being sacrilegious, "DOG" is "GOD" backwards, not that God is a dog. But, having been a child of God for 81 years, I find that my Father has many of the qualities of DOG. I guess it's because they are close friends.
