Dear Sean,

In 2003, at age 45, I was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. I was told that I had 3 - 6 mos. To live. I had 3 daughters still in school and a wife. I went through the normal regimen of brain surgery, radiation and chemo. The removed tumor came back along with several others. The situation seemed hopeless. I started every day with “lord hear my prayer”. I prayed everyday, almost all day. I would go in for chemo on a regular basis. I had an Omaha port in my brain for chemo. They also used this port to withdraw and test CSF. One Friday when I was receiving chemo, they were testing my cerebral spinal fluid for cancer cells.. this time the test came back negative. Zero cancer cells. None. The Drs could not understand what happened. I knew exactly what happened. My prayers were answer with a miracle. 22 years later I’m still here. I have some damage from the radiation and cancer Paralysis and hearing) but I’m still here and doing fine. Enjoying and loving my grandchildren! God heard my prayer!!

My cousin Linda was 13 and had spinal meningitis and this was in 1957. Her parents were told by the doctors in Marietta, Georgia that they had done all they could do and had given her over twice the medication to try to stop the brain swelling and bring her out of the coma, but nothing had worked. On the following Sunday several churches in the area had special prayer for her and on Monday she woke up and the doctors said it was a miracle. She recovered with no brain damage and is doing pretty well now at age 80.

I believe in prayer and I believe in God’s miracles.

When I was young and in love she moved away. I was sixteen. I begin to walk up to the Presbyterian church where my brothers and I went for many years. I would go after midnight and walk in and pray for my girlfriend who moved and myself. I did it for many nights. I was devastated by losing her. Took me years to get over her. The results were I found a wonderful person and she went on to a successful career as a veterinarian. We still talk after all these years. It certainly seems to work for me. I pray all the time now. One night just as I went to bed and prayed for my oldest son to be safe my wife walked in and said he is on the phone calling you. He said. "Dad, I just had a gun in my face and was robbed." He was delivering pizza.

I believe God listens to us all and answers all prayers offered in faith (and even those in desperation). But He answers according to His will, not ours. Which is sometimes very hard to accept. But over my lifetime,I have seen God's answers coming not always as we asked, and not in the timing we'd hoped, but miraculous nonetheless. Best example I can think of is a couple who prayed for pregnancy, but whose first was a terribly malformed child who had no chance of survival extra-utero, and taking the baby to full-term put the mom at extreme risk. Tragic on all counts. A situation that occurs less often than once every several million births (or so - not sure I have the statistic right.) Despite medical advice to the contrary, and after much prayer, the baby was carried to term and died seconds after birth, but mom was safe. Much prayer, depression, and counseling followed. Life went on in it's damaged, sad way for them. Not long later, they adopted an amazing little boy who is now a super-amazing young man. Then, a few years later, a couple in their bible study case asked for prayer because they were experiencing exactly the same situation - a situation that was unlike to recur in the USA within five year, much less in the same town in the same church. My friend heard from God a message similar to "for such a time as this" and became an invaluable support and prayer partner for the young couple. I am uncertain of the outcome of that pregnancy, but the message from God was clear to my friend. Her depression lifted, and eventually they had two more beautiful children with no complications. Sorry this was so long, Jules. Couldn't stop myself. (A bad habit...) Blessings to you, Stephen, and Anonymous.

Wow. I love this post. We all need constant reminders of God's love for us. Twenty- five years ago, I had cancer. I asked everyone I knew to pray for me. Long story short, the cancer was healed before my treatment was over. My doctor actually cancelled my last chemo. My son battled addiction for 5 years. Again, I asked for prayer. I even got the phone book out and called every church in our city and asked for prayer for him. I started a prayer journal just for him. I prayed for all the wonderful things I wanted for him. By the way, I was told at an Al Anon meeting that his chance of survival was only 25 percent. I rejected that. I KNOW all things are possible with God. Well, it took 5 years, but everything I prayed for has come to pass. He's been sober for 10 years. Recently, I found the prayer journal. Everything single prayer I had for him had been answered. Please don't ever give up hope. Pray and Praise God.

Hey Sean!

While my mother-in-law lay in a coma with a pneumonia in December 2012, our pastor came to the hospital to pray over her. In attendance was my husband and our oldest daughter. We gathered around the end of her bed and prayed. Finally, our pastor (also a musician) suggested we sing, "Jesus Loves Me." As we began, my mother-in-law, began, ever softly, to sing with us!! Before and after that day (she was in a coma for two weeks before she passed) in the hospital we never heard any other words from her except, Jesus loves me! One of the most beautiful moments I have ever witnessed!!

While my mother in law was in a nursing home for many health issues, I stopped by to visit her. Thinking a song might cheer her up, I started to sing “Amazing Grace” with her, even with dementia, she remembered all the words. It really blessed my heart! She’s in heaven with her Husband and 2 of her Sons and daughter in law, now. 🥲. We miss ‘em’ all! I pray that they get to tell old stories every day!

When my mother was in a home for old ladies with health problems and dementia, I took her my portable keyboard and her Baptist hymnal, so she could play the piano again. She had been the church pianist for many, many, years. She admitted to me that she could no longer read music, but she then started playing "Silent Night." She would play it several times a day, no matter the time of year. She passed in her sleep at the age of 94, and that day before, she had played Silent Night one last time.

That person who sent you this message sad they didn't believe in prayer but asked you to.pray for them. Sean, you were the person asked so they know believed you would. There must be at least a tiny bit of belief or they would have never asked you to pray for them. This reply just might be the tiny Crack that blossoms into to full on belief for them. Keep proclaiming God's work to the world. You are anointed by Him as one of his messengers.

My son was born with Respiratory Distress. He was not responding to treatment. Our friends said they would pray while we were with him that evening. The monitor started alarming and we were shooed out of the room. Next morning at 5am the ventilator was removed. He was home a week later and is now 29 without any breathing difficulties at all. I believe Jesus healed him.

I prayed as a young child for God to kill me. I was having what I know now as a nervous breakdown. My brain felt like it was going to explode. It was very high wired stress from my father’s violent anger filled episode. I wanted to die. God heard my prayer… I have a very loving family that Susan and I made. I am predominantly stable, thusly acceptably functional and want to see my grandkids grow up. God answered my childhood prayer in that dark closet, but He didn’t do what I asked. ❤️

At 21-mo. our granddaughter began having intermittent high fevers. She spent 7 months in the hospital, 3 mo. waiting for a diagnosis of a rare immune deficiency. A team of prayer warriors kept her case before the Throne. With 24-hr IV antibiotics and interferon shots, she was sent home. Her parents became her nurses along with in-home medical care when it could be found for their rural location. The only 'cure' for her condition was a bone marrow transplant with a 10% survival outcome. With God's assurance, thanks to prayer, she underwent the vicious procedure at age 3. Following another 7 mo in the hospital, she returned home on 30+ medications: one strong med left her with 75% hearing loss. A dr said she would never see kindergarten. Prayer never ceased for her, her parents, and older sister. Isebell just turned 12 and will be a flourishing 6th grader. All GLORY to a Miracle-Working God!--and thanks to the prayers of His people!!!

Many many years ago, while I was praying with a terminally ill man, someone said to me that God is healing MY backpain, which I had for decades. I looked up and said, "Yes, I want that healing" and the backpain was gone. I then continued to pray for the sick man. He passed away peacefully three days later. His daughters told me he was afraid of dying before I prayed for him but passed away in peace, free from all fear. God's double miracles!

I have so many stories of the power of prayer I could write a book. But just this week my daughter-in-law was swimming alone in her neighborhood pool and she had a cardiac incident and passed out. But something woke her up choking and coughing up water. She ended up in the hospital and had to have heart surgery. So, you might ask, where does prayer come in. Well, I pray constantly for deliverance from evil and a hedge of protection from tragedy. The morning of this incident, I was compelled to pray for this, I don't usually know why all I know is that I have 78 yesrs of experience that prayer works.

But, make no mistake, it's not the words that do the job, it's faith in the One Who is listening.

The story is long - it is 3 years long. Amy had 3 strokes on May 6,2022. Doctors asked us twice to stop life support. We would not give up. Prayer works. She’s still fighting for her independence, but it’s coming! Amy is 39, is married and has 3 children. She’s a former high school economics teacher. Her daddy and I just took her to Panama for stem cell treatments. And we are still praying! See @amysmiracle.com and please pray for her! From death to life because where there’s a pulse, there’s a purpose!

3 years ago I was diagnosed with metastatic esophageal cancer. I was given 3 months without treatment, maybe a year with treatment. Started chemo soon after. We belong to a wonderful church and in our travels and national park volunteering, met many friends all over the country. They were all praying for me. Within 2 months of starting treatment the cancer was significantly better. By 6 months all that was left were some tiny inactive nodules. I continue maintenance treatments but I feel well and strong. Without the prayers I’m sure I would not be here today. I’ve survived the longest of any other of my oncologist’s patients with this type cancer. God gave me a miracle and I share this with everyone I can.

Almost 25 years ago I had been legally intoxicated every day for 30 years. I tried every thing to quit. One night I got down on my knees and prayed for God to take it from me.

I woke up sober. I have never drank nor had an urge to drink since. There is a God and prayer works.
